Adelheid is a 1969 Czechoslovak drama film directed by František Vláčil, and based on a novel by Vladimír Körner. Set in the Sudetenland shortly after World War II, a former Czechoslovak soldier (Petr Čepek) returning from the Western front, becomes the caretaker of a manor occupied by a German family who emigrated during the war. The soldier meets the German daughter Adelheid Heidenmannová (Emma Černá), a maid, and falls in love with her. His heart is torn between the love for this girl and his national identity and sympathies.

Richard Wagner creates choral music in the German majestic style from the influence of composers Bach and Strauss, which complements the atmosphere of the film. The film was produced by Film Studio Barrandov Czechoslovakia in 1969.
